PLN Energi Gas Ready to Ensure Energy Supply During the 2024–2025 Christmas and New Year Holidays

Samarinda, 20 December 2024 – PT PLN Energi Gas demonstrated its commitment to ensuring a secure energy supply during the 2024–2025 Christmas and New Year (Nataru) period through the Nataru Readiness Initiative held at PK 52 Muara Badak and the Tanjung Batu Gas Station in East Kalimantan.

The event was attended in person by the President Director of PT PLN Energi Gas, Mr. Edwin Bangun, along with management from PLN Energi Gas, both from headquarters and the Tanjung Batu Unit. The presence of these company leaders underscored the importance of operational readiness in maintaining the stability of the energy supply during this period of high energy consumption.

During his visit, Mr. Edwin Bangun personally inspected the facilities at PK 52 Muara Badak and the Tanjung Batu Gas Station. He expressed his appreciation to the entire operational team for their hard work in ensuring the readiness of infrastructure and operations on-site. “We are committed to providing the best service to the public by ensuring that the energy supply remains reliable and safe throughout this Nataru Readiness period. Synergy between the central team and operational units in the field is the key to our shared success,” said Edwin Bangun.

This Nataru Readiness initiative involves various strategic measures, including:

  • A comprehensive inspection of gas infrastructure and distribution networks to ensure operational reliability.
  • Intensive coordination between the central team and field units to anticipate potential disruptions.
  • Deployment of personnel and support equipment on 24-hour standby during the Nataru period.

The Tanjung Batu Gas Station and PK 52 Muara Badak are part of PT PLN Energi Gas’s strategic infrastructure, playing a vital role in distributing energy to various regions in East Kalimantan. With both locations fully prepared, PT PLN Energi Gas is confident it can meet the community’s energy needs during the Nataru period.

In addition, PT PLN Energi Gas is also conducting training and simulations to enhance the technical capabilities and rapid response of its operational teams in handling emergency situations. This training is designed to strengthen coordination among various work units and ensure that all personnel have a thorough understanding of safety and operational procedures.

Mr. Edwin Bangun also emphasized the importance of using the latest technology to support the company’s operations. “We continue to innovate by leveraging technology to improve the efficiency and reliability of the energy distribution system. This is part of our efforts to make a tangible contribution to supporting the clean energy transition in Indonesia,” he added.

This initiative focuses not only on technical aspects but also on a human-centered approach. PT PLN Energi Gas pays special attention to the well-being of the operational team on duty during the Christmas and New Year period. Various support programs, such as providing adequate rest facilities and recognizing field staff, have been put in place to ensure high morale.
