To Commemorate World Environment Day 2026, PLN Energi Gas UPOP Holds a Cleanup Campaign at the Samarinda Islamic Center and Taman Tepian
Samarinda, 22 June 2026 – To commemorate World Environment Day 2026, PT PLN Energi Gas, through its Operations and Maintenance Management Unit (UPOP), conducted an environmental cleanup campaign at the Samarinda Islamic Center and Taman Tepian Samarinda on Monday (22/6).
This activity is a tangible demonstration of PLN Energi Gas’s commitment to supporting environmental conservation and raising public awareness about the importance of maintaining the cleanliness and sustainability of public spaces. The cleanup involved PLN Energi Gas UPOP staff who worked together to clean the areas surrounding public facilities and open spaces that serve as icons of the city of Samarinda.
World Environment Day serves as a reminder that protecting the environment is a shared responsibility. Through this initiative, PLN Energi Gas not only focuses on the company’s operational reliability but also strives to make a positive contribution to the environment and communities surrounding its operational areas.
Muhammad Algifari, Manager of the Operations and Maintenance Management Unit (UPOP) at PLN Energi Gas, stated that this activity is part of the company’s culture, which prioritizes environmental stewardship as one of the pillars of the company’s sustainability.
“Through this cleanup initiative, we want to show that caring for the environment can start with simple steps. PLN Energi Gas is committed to continuing to contribute to creating a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment through various activities that involve all company employees,” he said.
In addition to cleaning up trash and public areas, this activity also serves as a means to strengthen the spirit of collaboration and social responsibility among PLN Energi Gas employees.
