PLN GG Supports the 2023 World Environment Day Program by Hosting a Coastal Cleanup Event in Sukabumi

Sukabumi, June 10 2023 – PT PLN Gas & Geothermal participated in a Coastal Cleanup event to commemorate World Environment Day, in collaboration with PT PLN Indonesia Power, PT PLN Energi Primer Indonesia, and the Sukabumi Regional Government.

This Coastal Cleanup took place at Loji Beach, Pelabuhan Ratu, Sukabumi Regency, West Java (10 km from the Pelabuhan Ratu Coal-Fired Power Plant).

The Coastal Cleanup event was attended by thousands of participants from local government agencies, the PLN EPI Group, PLN IP, NGOs, and residents living near the beach.

This event was held with the aim of reducing the amount of inorganic waste accumulating in the Loji coastal area and raising public awareness about waste management.

Another goal of this event is to encourage the community to take greater responsibility for waste management and reduce the amount of waste discarded into the ocean.

“Today, PLN Gas & Geothermal is committed to and participating in World Environment Day activities under the theme ‘solutions to plastic pollution (waste)’. We joined the cleanup effort at Loji Beach to clear the shore, which was littered with plastic waste. We hope that through this activity, PLN Gas & Geothermal can contribute to creating a better environment in line with the government’s program guidelines for companies that care about the environment and ESG.” said Rudy Feisal.
